Loads of good pubs. Look for Dunne's (at the clock), Flynn's (across from Dunne's), Murtaghs (trendy new spot on Main Street), Havanna (alleyway off Bridge Street), the Oarsman and the Anchorage (either side of Bridge Street), the Swan (Main Street) and Ging's (far side of the river). Also have a look into the front bar of the Landmark Hotel. There's a nightclub behind the Landmark as well. Only club in the town at the moment.

You should also check out the Moon River. It's a large cruiser with full bar and music. It takes a trip down the river most nights.

And there's a new paintball center about 5 miles out the road, at Battlebridge, just past Leitrim village.

    Have fun:)

Carrick is a great place to go out.
All the places il Gatto mentioned are worth a visit....Personally I'm not gone on Gings but that is on the Roscommon side of town ;).
Cartown as mentioned in mufflers link is closed.

So how was the stag. A group of us are heading to Carrick for a long weekend. Can you recommend any pubs etc as a non-local. If you went on the booze cruise was it worth it? Mid to late 20's also.
    Thanks

had great fun on the stag, just glad its over, this best man's gig isn't all it's cracked up to be, a whole lot of organising for 20 lads to go on the rip. we arrvied on the friday and collected our cruisers, then took the boats up to leitrim village for scoops and grub, nice quiet spot, then headed back to carrick for the night, the boats barely made it back in one piece, few too many jagers to be had. have to say carrick is dead on a friday night, we did the usual pub crawl but we were pretty much the only lively group out. we ended up in the nightclub in the landmark hotel, complete dive, only go there when your well jarred. one of the lads got thrown out, tho' in fairness he did deserve it and have to say, the bouncers handled it all pretty well, weren't aggressive, just explained he wasn't getting back in.
then on sat, we took the boats south on the shannon, cant really remember where we took them, again the head was a bit groggy, but we ended up getting one of the boats stuck in a bridge, needless to say one of the lads new nicknames is crash mccormack. when we finally got back to carrick it was like a different town compared to the friday night, the place was absolutely hopping. nearly every bar we went to was full. dunnes on a sat night is a must, full of hens, and the local girls were all dolled up to the 9's and lookin pretty well, so have to recommend that. havanas was closed, had few sneaky shots in flynns and a couple of other pubs but we ended up back in dunnes not after long as it was jammers and the best spot. after dunnes we went to murtaghs, i think thats what its called, its just up the road past the church, from dunnes. it has 3 floors, downstairs there was a band playing, mid floor was usual pub scenario and upstairs was a nightclub. its all a bit hazy for the sat night but just remember the place being wedged and we've a few good stories from there.
all in all, id recommend carrick for a stag, its good craic with the cruisers and drinking on the boats. friday is a bit of a let down but if your in a group you'll make your own fun. saturday night is definitely the highlight tho.
anyways, hope that helped, have a blast
by the way we hired from emerald star and have to say, apart from the hefty deposit we had to leave due to being a stag, they were really helpful so would recommend them, tho' they did give us a bit of a slagging over getting stuck in a bridge
ps we didnt do the booze cruise as we were on the boats all day, but if your not taking out a few cruisers it might be good fun, tho i fancy your chances better on land with the ladies, with dunnes and murtaghs etc.
