On the form for renewing roadtax, there is a 10 digit box where this number is entered.

On the NCT certificate itself, there are two numbers displayed, one is a 12 digit number and the other is 7 digit number prefixed with the letter B.

Which number is the actual NCT number.

    thanks in advance

Its just for commercials and PSV i think. A nct isnt a cert of road worthiness, you leave that section blank.

That's correct. For cars, you don't need it.

Yep, you do not need a NCT to tax a private vehicle. The newer tax forms don't even mention it.

For commercials, you pay to get the cert of road worthiness from the tax office when you present the DOE (now DOT) pass cert.

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.

    Thanks for the replies

It's hard to know at times when filling out forms and such in this
country. The amount of times that the forms are out of date or wrong is
    unbelievable.
