I have a Sony Vaio which came with a version of Windows Live Messenger, I didnt like the version it came with so I tried to delete it in order to download an earlier version. I couldnt find it in Add/Remove Programmes so instead I deleted files from Programs on the C drive. When I tried to download the 'new' version of Messenger that I wanted, it wouldnt let me. I keep getting an error. What can I do to sort this out? I tried sys restore but it didnt work either. Its a mess and I've no messenger!

    Help someone!

Just in case you don't know there are many ways of getting msn through your browser including -

    webmessenger.msn.com
    www.meebo.com

I much prefer having the application running in the background rather than the browser, but unfortunately I can't get it working either, mine appears to be blocked by a non-existant firewall, unfortunately. Try your own firewall settings, I had to turn mine off in order to install it for some reason, and it worked for a while, then suddenly stopped.
