Texting photos on iPhone

I've asked this before and can't remember the answer - can you text someone a photo on an iPhone?

Took a photo of my friend's week-old foal and wanted to text it to her cousin, but I couldn't see how to do it. Tried from the picture and it offered to email it - great; I was in the mountains with no email coverage, and the cousin was in Dublin while her Mac was in Galway!

Tried from the texting app, and couldn't see any way to add an attachment.

    Is there a way?

    Standard, locked iPhone - no.

    Jailbreak and Swirly MMS, yes.

Or, if you have a 3G iPhone, wait until version 3.0 of the operating system comes out in July, MMS software will be included.
