    the 2008 fx 3 is 30% off at wiggle. €540 and good reviews.

    Just light tracks, parks forrests but nothing to hectic at the moment.

    In that case you're definitely better off with a hardtail - cheaper (or higher spec for the same money), much less maintenance, easier to clean etc. etc....

    +1 plus you'll tear up a climb on hardtail much quicker than getting a full suss up there.!
    Stay with Giant though...sweet bikes.
