    Jack Nicklaus is opening the new Kileen Castle Golf Course on Thursday. Has anyone played it?

    By all accounts it's an amazing course, but I wasn't impressed by their attitude when I contacted them about being reviewed for my book. They turned me down three times last year and then, when I emailed them this year about being reviewed on my blog, they declined, saying that they wanted to be in the book. But I'm not bitter, honest!

    From another post on here I think you can play it for €100, but that may change as we're hitting summer.

    Killeen Castle is meant to be a wonderful track - you can get some juicey deals on it now too. Does anyone have some interesting Jack Nicklaus facts or Trivia? I'm doing a little project and would love get some info... i'm not talking about his 18 majors etc.. but otherwise, unknown or lesser known infor.. any help woudl be great! thanks.

    Not too juicy i had a group booking for Sept for 24 plus golfers and the best they could do was €120..... email Scott Tolley director of communications for Nicklaus Companies....worth doing

    At a time when we think that one man dominates the world of golf ie. Tiger Woods. It is not an overly known fact that the man that finished an unbelievable 18 times in second place in the Majors was................

    Yes you guessed it........ The Golden Bear himself!!
    Therefore in 36 Majors he either won it or came second! There being 4 Majors in a year that means in his Professional life he completed 9 years in either 1st or second place!!
    Now that is dominating the world of Golf!!:eek:

    Thanks a million for that, I will definitly drop him a line. I was speaking to another rep at Nicklaus in Florida this afternoon and he was a great help. Thanks also for the runner up info, i actually had that one in the bag. He also had 19 career hole in ones. I'm meeting the great man himself on Thursday.

    lads if you haven't played Headfort New Course, make sure to get it in over the summer. I'm biased but its a smashing park land.

    Jack was just on the Late Late Show.
    He had a 15 minute conversation with Pat which was quite interesting.
