First time sportive mechanical checklist

Making some progress in training for Wicklow 100, now I start to worry about what could wrong mechanically.
Bike and components are 9 months old, less than 2k on the road and generally well cared for.
Only concerns I would have are with front tyre, gatorskin with quite a few gashes on top. A few dabs of superglue will sort that, right?
The other thing is my shoes, cheap 661 and the straps have been fraying for some time. Probably get a new pair because I don't want to carry duct tape for on the road repairs.
Wheels? The back occasionally goes out of true which I fix with a few semi-random spoke adjustments. Would it be worth getting it properly seen to?
Anything else I should investigate while I have time to bed it in?

Keep your drivetrain clean and lubed, gears calibrated and watch your brake pads. Shouldn't have any problems. You could go mad a fork out for new tyres if the current ones are badly gashed

Have you taken it back for its first service? If not, take it back to the shop and get it looked over. If they make any adjustments, cycle it round the block and take it back if anything is still wrong.

Yes, you can void the warranty on your wheels if you f--- them up by doing your own adjustments.

Had it's first service a good while ago.
Pete, I've already broken a wheel by fiddling with the spokes so I'm not quite so reckless any more, just wondering if a professional job would be wise - the wheels aren't anything too fancy afaik, alex ace-19 rims, stock with specialized tricross.
I've gotten into proper chain cleaning for a while now so I'll stick with that.
May well treat myself to a new front tyre and shoes.
