    Hi All

I have a FTV card but it hasn't been used in about 2 years.
I had Sky HD instaled last week and wanted to use the card for Channel 4 HD so left it in the box( but like an idiot forgot to unplug the phone line ) and it was there from about ten at night until 8 in the morning.
Since then I've left it in the box for nearly 24 hours(unplugged!) with no sign of Five etc showing on EPG and when I try Channel 4 HD i get this programme is not available 08.
Have I messed it up,do they do a ringback on the box every night or what??:o

Well tried that with no luck,so got a relative in UK to ring Freesat from Sky.
The card is "out of date" even though its 3 years old and have to get a new one for £20!
So all of you with FTV cards expect the big switch off with the new card rollout.

I only wanted the bloody thing to watch Channel 4 HD:rolleyes:

I have an old FTV card from 2003 (when the BBC were still running the scheme) and an ex-UK sub card which was cancelled in 2004. I expect these to be useless in a few months time when Sky complete the card changeover, but for the time being they both still work. So I doubt your card is "out of date".

Have you tried pairing the card to the box in the installer menu (with the phoneline unplugged, of course)? According to this site, on a HD box it's accessed by pressing 'Services 0 0 1 Select'. You'll probably still need to leave it in the box overnight as well.

He probably doesn't want to do that if he is also using the Sky HD box with an Irish sub card (he said he had it installed last week)

Why are you apologising? Don't ebay remove any FTV cards from the site?

Maybe slightly off topic but is it worth getting a new card? are there any plans for 5 to be on 105 permanently?

    My card is still working.

In my opinion its only worth getting a new card for Channel 4HD and the 5 channels.

When my mate rang Freesat from Sky they said the cards bought in the last few years will all be out of date soon and anyone who just wants the card will have to buy a new one for £20.
As we all know Sky don't like you getting too much for little money:rolleyes:

By the way when I get the card will I have to give Sky the number of my HD box to turn it on,could this prove dangerous or could I just use an old digibox I have to get the card working and then swap it to my HD box?
I'm just hoping they don't pair the card to a box!!!!
