    A "Sweet Whip". Jaysus, it's a bicycle.

You'll need to build it yourself if you want one like that or keep an eye out on gumtree.ie and adverts.ie.

edit- better put a brake on it too, or death will be swift and terrifying

Maybe not a bad thing for someone who thinks a bike is a whip ...

    Now THAT'S a sweet whip!

Regarding the bike - a plain old steel frame, can of white paint, Brooks saddle and a length of dowel from B&Q as a handlebar - you'll be all set.

This image and your previous location at the Captains table leads me to believe that you may be an Aubrey/Maturin fan...

Yeah I know chains break, a well maintained drivetrain should very very rarely have problems. Plus experience should include the ability to stop without a chain.
It has its dangers which should be taken on board before the decision is made.
I know the whole debate and dont fancy getting into it, but warn people about it dont face them with death, please. ;)

That's true, it gets my goat when people tell me what to do. I was being slightly facetious with the imminent death. It would probably be a slow and gruesome death. He gets the point by now I'm sure!

I don't know what a sweet whip is, but someone's selling this spartan whip on Gumtree. A steal at only €600.

    How?

I rode brakeless in Dublin for a year and even I dont recommend it now. But regardless of the safety aspect of it, its a pain having to replace your rear tyre so regularly when skid spots build up.

You can get by without brakes if you never ride fast I guess... or only ride fast on the track, where you are unlikely to have some eejit drive out in front of you etc.

Looks like something from this site.

Dunno where you'd get something like that in Ireland though.

Steel frame paint it white, there you go.

Or spend some cash and get a Charge Plug, sweet!!!

I do love my Charge Plug. Even if it's not so cool with it's two brakes and a bell. Always cheers me up on the morning commute.
