Multi zone amp?

Hi,
I have 2 pairs of passive speakers in 2 seperate rooms. What do i need to control the volume seperately from the same source?
Music source will probably be coming from a pc\ipod so i presume i need to attach them to an amp to drive the speakers.
Are there amps that do that or do i need to feed the output from an amp into some kind of multi speaker switch\selector? Stereo amp will do, I dont need dts or 5.1 or anything fancy.

cheers. though from the 1st link it looks like you need another amp for the 2nd zone

The 'sub-zone', however, is a line-level preamp output, meaning the signal must be fed to a separate amplifier, for sound in another area.

This sounds like it migh get over that seeing as how i dont need a different source for the second zone

With the AG-980 users can have up to four pairs of speakers powered simultaneously (in a 'main-zone'), each with individual control.

Apologies for the lack of response!

The AG980 will run 2 sets of speakers in 2 separate areas - however you can only control the volume from the remote or the main volume pot - the only work around (and it's a really good one) is to use a Powermid http://cpc.farnell.com/marmitek/3-pin-3a-plug/powermid-remote-control-extender/dp/AVVPOWERMID which will allow you to control your devices remotely.

The 980 unfortunately is about to be discontinued by Teac (why oh why??) so if you want to grab one - don't hang around!
