    Would it be possible that the front bumper came off while they we're taking it for a spin in the field? Don't see why they'd go to such effort to a "job" on a car like that.

    That's possible alright.. front bumper could have come off when they tried to ram the gate to get into the field - which they didn't from what I could tell. The front of the car hadn't burned out fully - the front tires looked okay..!

    The detached bumper was probably thrown into the car afterwardfs by Garda/passer-by/towtruck.
