Hi guys, as always when I have any motor queries I come here first.

Just did NCT there, failed on front CV boots (also because my reg didn't have Baile Atha Cliath on it!).

I'm just wondering what it'll cost to replace them? Is it a big job?

I drive a 98 Almera.

Would appreciate any replies, have searched for cv boot already but the search keeps dropping the cv and throwing up threads about boots!

Around 150-200 Euro for both sides OP. I think around 60-80 Euro a side would be about right ball park off the top of my head.

If you're planning to keep the car for a while I'd be wary of real cheapo boots as they can fail within a year.

If you want to just pass the NCT and basically don't care you can also get something like this. They are a diy job but probably won't last in the long term:

I'd recommend giving it a go yourself.
Really not as hard as it looks. Get yourself a haynes manual and buy/borrow some tools and give it a lash!
