Getting kind of freaked now because I'm leaving in just over three weeks and don't have a clue about my accomadation. There is three of us going over and we're all in the same boat. I've e-mailed a couple frat houses from UBC but apart from that I'm at a total loss. Most places seem to cost a lot more than what I had hoped for.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

How much? UBC is a fair bit from downtown vancouver, try get a place on granville as it goes straight into the downtown area. There is a well dodgey area full of crack heads just past downtown, i forget what its called but dont go there its mad!.

Accom is really really expensive, i was there last year and the rent was mad it was like $300 each between 8 of us... that was on granville, again i forget but it wasnt far from the airport, probably between the airport and downtown.

If you are working there bear in mind payday is every 2 weeks, and try your best to get paid by cash, you will be charged to cash a cheque(raped is more accurate)

You will find you will party in the house more as the nightlife sucks!

The minimum cost of places I've managed to find is around $550 upwards, which kinda sucks monkeys. We'd mostly be going to pubs n not like mega-ass loud clubs cause I hate them all really. But a place to have people over would be handy.

    The search continues anyway

the off licenses close at 5 and dont open on a sunday, also canadian beer is rank, heinekin ad bavaria are expensive:eek:, so get used to vodka and whiskey, or high balls as the call em!
Ye mega ass clubs are **** there, the mainstream ones you seem to have to bribe your way in, **** that.
Hit the Roxy, its a big rock N roll bar and the people are cool!

do your shopping in safeco, they have this club card that you should get the minute you get there because it will save you like 30% of your shopping bill if you use it smart!
