The management agent of my management company has asked several members of the management company to become directors of the company. He has also stated that we should seek legal advice if we are considering it.

I’m not looking for legal advice but I was wondering does anyone if any one publishes the roles and responsibilities of becoming a director.

If anyone has any opinions on becoming one can they let me know (still not looking for legal advice)

I've been a director of our management company for 2 years.

I don't see why you need seek legal advice, unless there are large issues for the management company that directors need to deal with.

That link posted is very useful and worth reading. If you want any guides, just drop me a PM.

I'm just repeating what the agent said to me. Dont know much about being a director hence looking to find out about it.

From the manamgent company side of things there are in red by a large sum, accounts havent been filed on time again (as far as I know and to be confirmed at the agm), the builders havent finished the estate and are looking to pull out, the managment agent is looking to pull out (possible) and a lot of bad debt.

There are the issues as I know them

I would not walk into that situation as a newbie director without legal advice first.

That sounds like a very serious mess, and certainly worth seeking legal advice for.

Not a job I'd be keen to take.
