Audio level too low on Spur Hill (analogue) TV channels

I notice that the audio on the analogue TV channels from Spur Hill (Cork) is set too low. This is the case on all 4 channels (RTEs,TV3,TG4) and is the case with both the standard audio and NICAM. I did a comparision between each channel from Spur Hill and Mullaghanish, and the Spur Hill audio levels are noticeably lower (both NICAM and standard audio). Mullaghanish appears to be at the correct levels and Mt Leinster has a similar audio level too (I could compare the two at another location).

I have heard a person complain that when switching between the 4 terrestrial channels (they receive from Spur Hill) and other sources that there is a significant variation on volume and then always need to readjust the volume, and wondered was it an issue with their TV!!

I've noticed the exact same thing. I thought it might have been some sort of noise-reduction thing on my Samsung LCD TV, but there is noticeable difference between the volume levels between the two transmitters. I'm only 2km or so from Spur Hill so there's signal strength problems.

I meant NO signal strength problems! Damn the lack of editing!

I found this while cleaning out my email notifications.

Has anybody else experience the issue Antenna and myself have described?

Still present, as I watch Vincent Browne.
