    Funny you mention that ;)

I saw him hit every clay pigeon, what's that 4" target, he fired at at 400 yards, off hand, with a Steyr Prohunter in 6.5 x 55 at Midlands range in 2005, shortly after he won four European championships.

He used shoot regularly at Midlands. He used shoot silhouettes there too. Was good at it too :)

He was always a gentleman and easy to approach and was always willing to help us mere mortals out with a few tips or a bit of coaching.

I remember thinking at the time he would have some fun out stalking deer as even at 400 yards they would have no chance

Nicholas is studying and working at the moment , he maintains regular contact with various clubs and organisations and I am sure we will see him back shooting in the very near future , and as the lads said he is a great example of a true sportsman in every sense of the word .

I have also seen Nicholas doing this and would agree with Bunny, Nichoals is a true gentleman and an amazing shot.

Nice, would love to watch that. It's about the same standard as the ISSF shooters at 300m, and without the kit is seriously impressive.

I don't know if it's the same standard IWM - Nicholas tried shooting 10m Air Rifle there for a while a few years back and didn't do nearly as well as we expected. I'm not sure what about it doesn't translate, but whatever it is, the two disciplines don't get much in the way of crossover.

I dunno. Looks like he could probably hold his own in a standard rifle match without any jacket or trousers. :p Perhaps the lack of optics was what got to him? In any case, pretty difficult to argue with clay pigeons, standing at 400 yards.

I think the standard rifle would weigh a lot more than what he's used to - and that might cause him problems given his arthritis. Not that they couldn't be overcome, but I'd be a bit reluctant to encourage someone to take that kind of pounding on their skeleton when they've already had medical papers written about the damage they've taken!

Ah, fair enough. I must admit I'm not familiar with him or his medical history.
