Could be a few things... It might be an aiff file, not a mp3? Is the file extension correct? Is it maybe just a shortcut you've got and not the file?

    This is veeeery strange

Did the drag and drop and it didnt work, but I seem to be able to drag and drop any other song in my itunes folder into Cubase:confused:

    How is this even possible???

Sounds like it is only looking for files of a particular extension. Copy a WAV file to the desktop and see if it sees it. Can Cubase import MP3 files?

As I said above it could be an AIFF file or something else. Cubase will import MP3's but not all formats out there and iTunes plays more than just MP3's so check the file extension. It could also be a bit rate or sampling frequency issue?
