Infection.... possibly a periodontal abscess?

About 2 months ago a bit of hemp seed got stuck in my gum so i tried to take it out with a toothpick. Im not sure if i got it out, i think i pushed it in deeper and while doing so im sure i damaged the tooth or gum in the process. About a week ago i felt a niggling sensation on the tooth again so i thought i'd maybe give the toothpick another go. I think i damaged the tooth/gum a bit more. The gum has contracted, and hurts and bleeds when is brushed. If i put pressure with my finger on the gum way above the tooth near the top of my mouth i can feel pain, this is what's leading me on to think there's an infection in the nerve/root(?).

I think i have developed an infection, possibly a periodontal abscess - seeing as my tooth (wisdom tooth) is healthy. I had many abscesses as a kid and know what they feel like, feels like im at the early stages of one right now, but those abscesses where due to bad hygeine/fillings and now this is just food stuck in my gum. Is the procedure different in this case? Can it be cured by cleaning and maybe some anti biotics? If not what is likely to be the treatment in this case? I really want this tooth saved as i've only got a wisdom, second molar, second premolar, canine, incisor left on that top right side of my mouth but at the same time i dont want to have to fork out monies as i dont have much right now! Thanks

if there is something stuck underneath it will only cause further loss of attachment to the tooth. go to your dentist and he will clean it out.
