Music on youtube

im an ameture film maker and iv made a fuw short movies.. i have music in these videos and when i upload them onto youtube it says copyright infringment. i know that there are ways around this because loads of other videos have music in them. can anybody help.

I think the videos with music in them are just the ones they haven't got to yet. You might be better off uploading to Vimeo or Dailymotion, I don't think they are as rigorous with their copyright protection.

How about - I dunno - using songs that you're entitled to use ? Ones that aren't copyrighted or ones that you pay the copyright for ?

Or not using the songs ?

Because if the songs add to the impact or feel of your video, then the people involved are entitled to get paid.

YouTube works on a user system wherein it is the users responsibility to report copyright violations no? Simple solution, make crap videos, that way nobody will see them and so nobody will report them!
