intoxicated in public and up in court

    has anyone got any idea of what i should expect. was drunk on friday and was put in a cell for the night and told to appear in court in about 3 weeks. on the letter, it says to pay €200 if i dont show. what should i do? if i dont show up am i just charged anyway? will i just get fined?

    A solicitor would be your best bet to answer your questions....

    If ya dont show there'll be a bench warrant issued for you arrest. you will then owe the state the 200 euro aswell as breach of bail.

    you'll prob be fined in court if found guilty, fine imposed depends on the judge.

    ok, so defo go to court! should i get a solicitor? have never been in a court and am quite nervous now. think i should write a letter to apologise to the garda, it'll look good i think... will i have a criminal record then? i've never been in trouble before
