i am looking to find something like this, however i have been most unlucky in my searching as nowhere seems to have anything i want, i don't know what, as skirt and top polka dot separates are everywhere i look, but no dress!

i am really liking the sort of rockabilly look coming back, however i think this is probably the extent of what i'd be able to pull off. plus its WELL CUTE :)

That look is so adorable! I can only suggest George's arcade in Dublin, a few of their shops have dresses like this in the window a lot.

I love that polka dot 1950's style look! As the previous poster said, I'm pretty sure Retro in Georges St Arcade has dresses like that. Also, I think I might have seen a silk polka dot halterneck dress in the new Arnotts project in Jervis St in the basement, think ot was green with white polka dots, not 100% sure though!

Just after remembering, the dress I saw was by Ralph Lauren in the basement of Arnotts, might have their Polo label? anyway, it was about €100 and was beautiful, and now i think I saw it in red and white polka dots, not green and white, although there might have been other dresses in green! maybe call in or phone them to check?
Also, think they're doing 25% off this weekend, but not sure if it's their mailing list customers only, I got a text about it yesterday. Best of Luck!!

Retro in Georges Street Arcade sells Vivien of Holloway dresses which I think is the dress that's in the photo you posted.
The Vivien of Holloway website is here www.vivienofholloway.com
If you order online make sure to measure yourself carefully as their sizes are different to normal sizes and run quite small!

    Whoops!

I neglected to mention I actually live in Southampton right now, so english chains or online are my options, hehe.

Special K i actually went through that site a while ago, there were loads of lovely dresses but i guess i am a bit fussy as to how my dress is 'finished' i couldn't deal with that fuscia trim, and i'm really looking for one with a bit of a hoop/petticoat underneath to give it that (for want of a better word) 'sticky-out' style.

Well you can always buy the hoop to go underneath it. I think those dresses are gorgeous. No idea about the quality as I've never ordered from it but they look very classic :)
