Probably not, no. Though I tell people I would just to look cool.
    Nice one Ronan :D

He didn't either. He placed his hands into his pockets after shaking her hand but he he didn't keep them there throughout their meeting.

Seany you sound like the headmaster from Saved By The Bell, what was his name again, Principal Belling? It's like you just walked in on a room of bold children! We're plotting to add some subtle informality to the occasion when Mary McAleese invites Lizzy over next year and the AH crowd get to shake hands with her on the steps of the Aras :D

He was trying to hide a stiffy, she's a fine woman. Phil the Greek is one lucky man.

I wouldn't even cross a road to see her, never mind get off me chair to greet her and take me hands out of my pockets!
Hell, if she wishes to stand in line and wait for me to make my way down it, thats her choice too. Sadly the snobbed up, crass, over spoilt cow wouldn't do that.
The whole family bunch are a waste of time!

Why do you care about the Queen of England in the first place? What is this fascination that troubles a lot of people?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,167 ✭✭✭✭Berty

You lot are far too young for this

She hasn't aged in years, it's a bit weird. For some people, it's a MILF thing. For the rest, they hate reality tv shows and blame her for "Britains got talent"

I'd like to think I'd do 'a ROG' or 'a Mr Bean' if I met her. But I know I'd bottle it, and lick the ass off the old wagon.

Fair enough. repharse - I'd like to keep my hands in my pockets the whole time while greeting the queen. Or just do a Mr Bean.

I agree, the pic was misleading..

I would imagine the queen doesn't want to meet and shake hands with many of the people she has to either ,it's part of her job discription but there ya go .

Mr. Bean has universal appeal, you can show it in nursing homes and you can show it in nurseries, people still get the humour. I'm in my early twenties, I was about eight the first time I saw that and it's still funny today! :D

Bloke looks awkward and has hands in pockets when meeting foreign crown wearing chick.
I didnt get the joke then and I don't know.
    Those rugby blokes are strange.

Blokes who call blokes blokes are strange :D

None as strange as good ol' Martin Johnson, who made Mary Mc stick her stilettos in the sod a few years back. It's natural for us to seek some form of revenge on their head of state, out of childish divilment if nothing else.

there is no way i would ever be meeting the queen, so teh question is invalid for me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,879 ✭✭✭Coriolanus

No, what I would do though is grab her hand and pump it up and down. I hear she doesn't shake hands with anyone other than heads of state or something so a picture of me with a big mullah ground dislocating the biddys shoulder with a proper shake would be great.
