Has this not been asked before - Ciaran has retired is living and working in Waterford. As for Denis, I thought he was in France ?

Why don't you ask Denis a Question on his bebo http://www.bebo.com/Profile.jsp?MemberId=3720907282

Ciaran is still living in Tramore in Co. Waterford and has just started going out for the odd spin again. I have known him since he started racing U12 and I can tell you he is one of the nicest peple you will ever meet. I don't want to say too much more about what he's up to at the moment as he's perfectly capable of coming on himself if he wants to.

i think its a bit nosy to be honest to ask what these people are doing and why they arent cycling.
    ciaran power in retired.
denis is a young lad and i dont thing contacting anyone through a bebo site or anything like that is fair.

Just accept the fact they arent racing

was just curious about them , not looking for exact details on their whereabouts, all in good spirits and nothing but goodwill towards ciaran who has been an outstanding athlete for the past 12 years plus.

Well throwing denis dunworth into google turned up his bebo page as the first result.

Dunworth packed it in. Its a shame, but he is a young man and cycling is a vocation and a tough one at that which for riders like Dunworth requires a lot of committment at a time when the only sport the rest of us are getting is hopping onto barstools and chasing women. Happens to a lot of promising juniors, one minute you are killing everyone, next you turn senior and full time and you are carrying bottles for more senior riders and getting shelled every second week. Hard to keep your head at times like that. A good lad, I wish him all the best. Hopefully he will be back at some point.

I don't think Ciaran would mind me saying that he is now working for a cycling distributor, good to see him getting back involved with the sport in some form. Helps out coaching some of our guys for the RAS too, he's a great coach, he gave me a program for winter the year before last and when I followed it, I was the strongest I ever was, I haven't been worth a damn since I stopped, I am going to have to bribe him to help me out again, if you are ever considering paying for a coach as many riders do these days I would recommend seeking him out... He is far too valuable to Irish Cycling to be lost to us. Great to see him at the recent Copper Coast Sportif, for a guy who has done what he has done (just watching the Giro yesterday remembering him getting a couple of top 10's on stages of it back in the day) he is extremely approachable and a lot of the riders on the day have since admitted to me that they were hugely impressed with him and more than a little starstruck ! Anything that brings him back into the fold is a good thing.

great to hear ciaran is well, was a big fan of his and was gutted when i heard he retired.just on another issue, what happens at the end of the year when a team olds or changes bike sponsor do they have to give back the bikes and clothing.this isn't directed at ciaran or dennis, just a general queston.

finally if ciaran does the fashionable thing an comes out of retirement in a few years, he has plenty of years left acording to the malcolm elliot time scale!
