what is the crack with the NCT

    hey guy im here for a bit of help.i drive a civic.full jdm look.i took it too the nct.first time it went threw with only some small things.like i mean they could have done me for much more but anyway.today i took it back with everything done.but it still just barely failed on lamda 1.67 anyway as of monday it will need a full retest so this i just know i will done for everythinh rather than some small things.so my questions is.i have heard of fellas paying there way threw the test.stuff like a 50note in the visor or ashtray.personally i think that is just **** ballox but does someone know if this actually does go on????otherwise i will end out get a bill of about 800 to make it pass

    well i was gonna wait till after the nct to fit a decat.but do u know the answer to my question about the whole fifty in the visor??its just barely failing like.the pipe had a crack but i fixed that they told me it was a vaccum and thats why it was failing but today it still failed even tho i fixed the crack.

    have you checked the lambda sensor or the O2 sensor?

    the lambda was reading fine yesterday but today for some reason it wasn't today and no i didn't check the o2 sensor.

    are u getting good mpg outta the 320d?

    yeah, inner city driving and short trips average late 30's, havent drove many long runs yet but it did average late 40's ona trip to Athy.

    When i brought my car over to get done , the dealer i bought it off gave me 50 quid to stick in the visor. It passed with flying colours of course. The NCT is a bit of a cop out i think

    2 things strike me here....

    1 you bought a car that was only going to pass an NCT test with the help of a bribe!

    2 You bought a car from a dealer who was both familiar with bribing NCT centres and was ok with bribing NCT centres!

    Don't come on here looking for advice or guidance in breaking the law/offering bribes to NCT centres
