Im fed up. Ive paid my levy when i was buying the wrap every year. the first year they came and collected it, the next few we went to the local mart and loaded it on to a lorry. Now we have two companies that we have to pay to collect the stuff. I cant afford to do this and i cant put a match to the stuff.... is there anyone one or thing out there can take it off me for free. What is the point of the Levy? is it used to line the pockets of the board of Volac? this is a disgrace... Im told that my only hope is the IFA. they have arranged collections in the past. Are they doing it again?

I posted a similar Thread there 'bout a week ago. Never got an answer either.
Same boat as yerself Iron Man - don't know what to do with it. Don't want to have to pay after paying the levy. Surely the supplier has to take it back - as is the case with electrical goods.

Take a load and dump it back where you bought it....only kidding.

is there no way this company can be challenged? i understood that you payed the levy so that they take away the waste. Why are they getting away with it? is it good for anything else? i have about 700 wraps.

As I said in my reply to pakalasa's last post, there is no free collection of farm plastic. The last free collections that toook place at local cattle marts were paid for by your local county council. Doubt if they will have much funds to collect for free now.

I did suggest one way of doing it, but obviously you did not take me up on it.

Here we go again in plain english:

" buy your wrap with no levy paid on it. Use the money that you save to pay FRS to collect it". You can save at least €10 per roll or wrap when there is no levy on it and there are loads of places selling it without the levy.

    Eco Plastics,

Do you weigh the plastic or just look at a heap, like the rest of them do.
