    Casillas to blame there

That was really poor from Casillas getting beat at his near post.

Valencia's form has been stunning recently - on the evidence of the last month or two, they could be back close to the top again next year if off-field issues don't cripple them.

Second goal was poor from Casillas but a 2-goal lead isn't completely undeserved - Real have been second best by a mile.

Totally agree and Valencia are unlucky not to have scored more than two.

    They just went close again.

Real are poor. They havent got going tonight at all. Wonder did last weeks 6-2 annihilation knock their confidence.

    Goal...........

    3 - 0

    Baraja

Ah crap this probably means no Villareal in CL next year, like to watch them:(

I don't want Valencia in the CL, they will be probably lose the likes of Villa, Silva and Mata, so they won't be able to give a proper account of themselves or La Liga. I'd prefer Atletico or Villareal...

Agree, even commentators never miss to say they are in critical financial situation and they need to sell a lot this summer so i supose they wont be impressive at all in CL but i dont see neither Atletico or Villareal getting that 4th spot...

Getting into the Champions league could be exactly what they need to entice the likes of Villa, Mata, Silva and Joaquín to stay.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,008 ✭✭✭delija_sever029

Actually they need CL to survive financialy, least i heard that during the game last night, and players selling is something they will do anyway coz they owe a lot of money

Villareal one down to Barca already, deflected shot from Keita.

Llorente makes it 1-1 and a few minutes later Valdes make a great save to keep it level. Barca are creating chances, but have ben guilty of being a little sloppy with possession at times

Can see Villareal getting a result here considering that the title is all but in the bag.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,008 ✭✭✭delija_sever029

Ah the only hope for Viullareal to play CL next season is to win today, cant see that happening tbh...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,307 ✭✭✭cruiserweight

2-1 to Barca now, Etoo another goal closer to being highest scorer this year

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,307 ✭✭✭cruiserweight

3-1 now, Alves free kick. I can see a penalty for Barcelona yet, Villareal are giving away a lot of free kicks in and around the box

Should be 5 or 6 goals to 1 here.

Xavi had a perfectly good goal disallowed there.

whats the score now and how much is left?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,148 ✭✭✭✭Raskolnikov

Penalty to Villareal, 3-2 now and Abidal off. About 15 to go including injury time

in theory yes, though Barca would need to lose every game, and madrid win every one.

Barça had a definite penalty not given in the first half for a foul on Alves and a Xavi goal wrongly disallowed in the second half. Francoist conspiracy by the Spanish FA?:P

xavi was definately on alright, 4-1 would have really finished it off.

Cant believe Abidal is off for the second time in 2 games, though this one was much more clear cut.

I thought it was a very harsh red tbh. Suppose it all depends on how you define a "clear" goalscoring opportunity though.

Barca could have done without that. Lucky Villarreal.

re. Valencia, they remind me of a successful Newcastle. A trip to the Mestalla is high on my places to go list.
