Drinking & triathlons

    Heya,

Just curious how other people revolve their lives around triathlon training??
I've been doing them a couple of years now and still manage to go out on Saturday nights and a few glasses of wine during the week, still manage around 10-14 hours training a week.

I know if I knocked the gargle and the smokes(only when drinking) on the head I could significantly increase my times. However, I'm 33 now and im not going to no olympics, I took up the sport to keep myself fit after playing football for years and like the fact that you can keep up this sport well into your 50's if not further.....

I'm doing a few olympic distance this year and hopefully half-ironman in August, just wondering if anyone else is the same??

Well for all the running I do I can't live without my Gitanes Filter. I only ever ran one race as a non-smoker and it was my worst time ever for that distance. Though to be fair that was due to other factors.

Nothing wrong with a few beers every now and again, I know I'm going for a few tomorrow evening after my weekly long cycle tomorrow morning, looking forward to it. You should give up the smokes altogether tho, triathlon or no. I'm the worst kind of smoker, an ex...

I gave up last year both directly because of my first tri and it helped that my GF did the same at the time. However, my main point is GITANES!!!! dear flying spaghetti monster!!??!! Most horrible cig ever!!!! :P

I also have a sprint tri next weekend and I'm most of the way through a bottle of vodka. I'm not pushed about the tri anymore as my knee has gone to **** again :( Actually that reminds me to post a topic about it.
