(Ex?) Criminal Martin "The Viper" foley, now a debt collecter of sorts I'm told has been harassing a man in loughshinny (where i live), into paying back a debt of 90,000 euros. The tactic hes using is to send a gang of goons in with placards in mock prostest fashion outside his house calling on him to pay back. Anyone know if this is a normal tactic??

Guess some people don't change if this is true.
Raises the question, what legal powers are there to stop this possible type of gurrier from operating as a loan shark debt collector and do any laws need to be further drawn up and/or tightened?

It great giving these cnuts names like 'The Viper', et al. Must come in fierce handy when the poor misfortune of a man in debt, asks who's calling for the money? It's THE VIPER.

    Cheers Paul Williams.

I thought it was Veronica Guerin and the Sunday Independent that started that nickname. They couldn't name him for legal reasons so they had to use a nickname. As they did with other criminals

Or are you sure it was Paul Williams, I'm happy to be corrected.
I realy don't think it was Paul Williams

If somebody owed you 90k and refused to give it back, how far would you go?

I stand to be corrected in 'The Viper' been named by Paul Williams. But glorifying the prick as a Godfather in all those books he writes, and aricles he writes doesn't help.

I'm sure they can print the name Martin Foley now.

Just pay the man already

However, if you find yourself in financial difficulty as a result of economic downturn - These people could always send him a very stern letter on your behalf.

    Best of luck! :pac:

If your man feels intimidated by the "protest" on more than one occassion he could actually try and file a complaint for harassment. Trying to recover a debt would give the one trying to recover it some leeway before you could speak of harassment ( phonecalls, letters, getting a solicitor involved etc ) but staging a public gathering in front a house or premises would hardly be deemed to be acceptable by most district court judges. Would the debt be subject to a dispute about goods or services delivered ?

I would go mental. Do more than hold a fake protest.

This Viper character makes me laugh. Some day soon he'll yank the chain of the wrong c*nt who will be a Padraig Nally type of a character and take out a shotgun from behind the hall door and blow this c*nts head clean off his neck.

When the trial comes along, what better defence could you ask for, than to be able to say that one of Ireland's most well known criminals was calling to your home and harrassing you.

This guy thinks he is untouchable but I'd say soon enough he'll put it up to the wrong c*nt who will blow his f*cking head off.

Oddly enough though if Paul Williams is correct, he's already survied several attempts on his life!

Well he's survived a few assassination attempts so far, maybe he can't be killed

They just need to change their angle. Sending a bunch of goons after him is pointless. His modus operandi is well known, and seeing as he is comfortable with killing women - I think it would be poetic justice for a woman to do the job.

Air bubble into the vain ftw :pac:

That's my very point! I remember in every school I went to, there was a "hard man" like Foley who walked around with a big "hard man" attitude. Equally, there was always a quiet guy who he'd cross and the quiet guy would usually end up some day having enough and then kicking ten colours of f*ck out of the hard man.

This is what will eventually happen Foley, the "hard man" brand has obviously gone to his head and it's usually when this happens and folks like him think that they are invincible, that next thing they know, they're brown bread...

He gave me a bite to the eye once, fighting down at the alley.

Swinford is really putting itself on the map with the Hardy Bucks and the infamous wikipedia article.

anybody dumb enough to borrow 90000 of martin foley and not pay it back is lucky only to be getting a placcard protest!

    This is hearsay.
