    go to your local plant/tool hire. Take piece of the old one.There are different size cords for different machines.

    How far down the cord did it snap? On some lawnmowers you can remove the cord reel and take out the knotted end, rethread the remainder of the cord and your grand - obviously this will only work if the ripcord snapped at either end.
