Hi l have a peugeot partner van.
    Its a 04 with 23,500 miles on it.its 1.9 d not the hdi one.

I know its around 50,000 miles that its recomended but also heard its either every 50k or every 4 years.

would it be beter to get it done soon or could I wait another year and get it done around 40k.

Basically what lmrealy wondering is the 4 year bit very important.

    thanks

Rubber degrades with both time and use, i'd do it now. Is it really worth the risk/worry of putting it off?

If it was my own car, I'd leave it 'til 50K but if it was my customers car, I'd recommend following the script. Does that clarify it for you!?! :D:D:D

I stand corrected on this one but I think the manufacturer recomends 75,000 miles for thoses old PSA 1.9 diesels ( although I'd never let it go that far myself ) but its probably better to stick to around 50,000 miles or 5 years.

I was just about to start a similar thread - mind if I hop on this one? My google-fu is failing me. Can anyone point me to the timing belt change intervals for Nissan Notes?

Replacement on the DW8 engine is 72k never seen a timescale for them but i would imagine five years would be a safe bet.

By the way the water pump must be replaced with the belt.

Do it now. As already mentioned, rubber perished over time, but it also stretches over time and having it skip a tooth or snap is the last thing you want to happen.
