    Breaking news .ie

A 22-year-old soldier from Dublin has been killed while serving with the British Army in Afghanistan.

Corporal Seán Binnie was born in Dublin to Scottish parents and joined the British Army in 2003 – he was one of three soldiers killed in a fire fight with insurgents in Helmand province on Thursday.

He served in Iraq and the Falkland Islands before deploying to Afghanistan in March as a mentor, living and working with Afghan soldiers.

    Man that sucks big time.

I was oversea's when two married lads were killed, and would you believe it I met their widows and children 15yrs later at a wreath laying ceremony in Lebanon.

    God bless them all.
