Harbour Police

I know there use to be a Harbour Police section in Dublin and Dun Laorighe port. I know the service is more or less gone now in Dublin Port replaced by private security. Has anybody ever dealt with them in Dun Laorighe? They have similar power to the APS but derive there powers from a Harbour Act i think. Do officer carry…

Just curious i remember seeing a ford transit with Harbour Police markings/ Blue lights on it bout 2 years ago was there ever anymore vehicles.

Yes they carry ASP and have vests, ridgid cuffs etc.
They get their power from the Harbours Act 1996 and have a power of arrest under Section 54 of the Act. Person arrested must be then handed over to AGS etc etc
