What software bundle would that be? Looks like a reasonable 25 key keyboard for the price. Have a look through the various ones on thomann and google for reviews. My preference would be for the m-audio Axiom range, but more or less anything would be fine

    Thanks for the reply Jimi

The Software you get is Cubase AI4 and this lot of VST's and sound banks, see vid http://www.xfactorvst.com/

I do like the Axiom stuff as the "trigger pads" look very usefull ,like a AKAI MPC for beats.

Also it looks like the Yamaha is very much tied into Cubase and is hard to map to other DAW's etc.

    Can't beat this price
    http://www.reverb-store.co.uk/product-detail.asp?prod=2335
    £30!!!
They also have a 49 or 61 key for £50
This reverb crowd used to be sound control. It looks like they are selling off loads of left over stock at half nothing. Lots of silly prices across everything on the site. I can't vouch for them because I have never got anything from them but sound control were always reliable until they folded.
If you are running a macbook you should get logic. Even express has loads of audio instruments and fx plugins.

Thanks Folks but it looks like the Yamaha KX is let down by a "bag of pain" software setup ..see the treads on the product forum http://www.xfactorvst.com/

It is always crap when good hardware is let down by bad rollout of software.

Looks like I will have to save a bit more and go M-Audio , Korg or even Akai http://www.turntablelab.com/production_tools/0/0/34388.html

Tbh there's going to be absolutely nothing of value in terms of VSTs or software with any 25 key controller. There's plenty of great VSTs on kvr-audio and plenty of very cheap, very high quality VSTs from places like audiodamage or the d16.pl stuff (best 303, 808 and 909 VSTis without a shadow of a doubt).
