According to Serebii.net Pokémon Gold and Silver are going to be remade as Pokémon Heart Gold and Soul Silver. No other details are known yet, and I know it's yet another cynical Pokémon re-release, but I can't help looking forward to revisiting Johto already. I loved Gold and always wanted to replay it someday :)

Gold and Silver were immense, I loved going through Johto and
finding that there was another set of gyms in Kanto
. Heart Gold though? Not the coolest name! Silver was the better of the two versions, I expect Soul Silver to be the same!

If it turns out to be true, this will be the first nintendo game I will buy on release date in a long time. Silver was by far my favorite title in the series, I just hope they dont mess it up too much.

About time they remade GSC! We all knew it was inevitable given FRLG :)

So, when are we gonna get the Ruby/Sapphire remakes? :D

Should be cool. Got a ****ty/buggy/glitchy version of Platinum on ebay recently, hopefully this should be better.

I just hope it has Johto and Kanto. The original G/S/C were the only games they bothered with a second region, unless you count a few islands in the Red/Green remake.

Never played a pokemon game. Are they actually good games underneath the kid's show content?

Yes, very much so. I started a new game last night for the first time in years and definately recommend it.

I bought what I suspect might be a second-rate copy from ebay not too long ago, so beware or something.

well videogamesplus.ca is completely reliable. I buy loads of games from them as they stock Canadian versions (same as US but bigger manual for french canadians).

CA$40 so works out €25 for new copy. Play.com wanted €35 euro. Also for some reason shipping from Canada is faster then shipping from play.com

There's a lot of fakes going around on eBay. Avoid buying from sellers in Hong Kong if you can as that's where most of them come from.

Play.com is based in the Isle of Man which is a tax haven. It's also not part of the EU so you have to pay import duty. Customs has been cracking down on deliveries from there recently.

All the deliveries I've got from there recently have been sent from Sweden or hungry. Still very slow compared to canada and US

They're based in Jersey actually. But compare their Euro prices to their pound prices!
Zavvi.co.uk (yes they still exist!) do not have pulled-out-of-their-arse Euro prices so usually turn out a lot cheaper than Play.com. Got Chinatown Wars from them for £24, delivered in 3 working days. They're based in Guernsey though (the other Channel Island), so you may get caught by excise duty (I didn't).

Imagine if they add on a new region (like they did in fire red/leaf green). It'd be ridiculously huge.

*mental note; clear 2010 to play this*
