Really amateurish question, but can you get your car NCT'd without tax?
Only just got my car, and have been waiting 2 weeks for the Registration Cert to tax the thing. I managed to get REAL lucky on the NCT and get one for next week. :D

You don't need to have the car taxed to do an NCT. Just ring 1890 412 413 on Monday morning and give them your reg number to make sure it is up on their system, if it is, you're grand for an NCT regardless of whether it is taxed or not.

If it isn't, you'll have to get a form from the NCT and fill it out and send it back to them.

Well I was chattin to some wan in the NCT call centre, and she was able to pull up my test details from my reg and chassis number, so I would presume that they have the car details on file. It was imported last year some time(June I think), so maybe they should have the car details at this stage?

Well once they have the car details your grand. Don't worry about the tax getting in the way of the NCT...

No tax required. As per usual, Darragh is bang on!
