My brother, a mate and myself are planning on heading to Vegas in September for 7-10 days.

Just wondering is the any places you would recommend for us to stay in. Which hotels/casino's would have good cash holdem games plus tourney's (not high roller events). Plus where is the best spots for nitelife, clubs??? pulling women ?(not hookers) :D

Most hotels on the strip are quite cheap, cheaper than you'd think because they want you to stay there hoping youll do more gambling there. MGM is pretty classy.

When I was there didn't do much gambling, had to decide spend money going out or gambling as funds were tight...

4 lads went to coyote ugly, 4 guys got laid! All the clubs are pretty good, dont get going until after 1 or 2 at least. Theres guys on the streets handing out free passes and discounts for nightclubs, they actually work so take it, just dont tip the guy in case they are duds! Pure was a pretty cool club, drinks are dear though so tank up on free booze in casino before going out, just dont gamble too much when doing this.

Dont ask a taxi to take you to a club, youll end up in a strip club in the middle of nowhere, unless thats what you want.

7-10 days is long time in vegas

Stay ay Wynn if you can, its so far better than anywhere else imo. (dont order room service, 60 quid for an omlette and its stinkin imo)

Also frequent Spearmint Rhino ( order hot asian birds imo)

Poker in Caesars and Bellagio is probably the best. (good value tourneys in CP and big tourneys in Bellagio)

    Did i mention the Rhino?;)

Eat at Caesars or this place Food is phenomenal

Never been there but this place sounds good!

The MGM is a really nice well priced hotel. The rooms are great with a really good casino and constant cash game action in a good poker room.

Tournaments on the strip are usually a bit crap with no play at all and the're crapshoots throughout so for $150ish i would just stick to the cash games as there prity weak at $1/$2.

I agree with LTL. MGM grand is great hotel. Good rooms, good atmosphere and overall pleasant. However can be bit of a maze lol.

Am staying in Bellagio in few weeks time. Will let you know how it stacks up upon my return

Stayed at the MGM just after Christmas, hotel is fine is.

Ask for a room in the 310 range at the front of the hotel over looking the desert. My sis stayed at the back in an area which was weird..and she paid more for a pokey little bed for her and her other half while me and the other sis stretched out in two double beds for less!

The coridoors at the back are dark and the rooms are pokey. I think they were attempting some japenese style but failed, instead it looks like something out of Half life wandering around the corridoors...

You might not thing this is important but in vegas you tend to loose perspective of day and night so waking up in daylight is like a beacon.

I also stayed for 6 days and I think you are mad staying any longer than that. Four days max is enough.
The wow factor becomes a bit tired and annoying after a while. (Ding-ding- ching-ching, goes through your brain...I stoped hearing machines about two days after I left.)

but if you are there to gamble then gamble away.

If you are going to the concierge to book anything go before you go to bed.
The queue's are ridiculous at any other time. Other than that nice bars in the hotel and a good bar in the New york new York accross the way. It's an Irish bar, and that might seem very Oirish of me, but it was really really good fun and the music is unbelievable.

How are you flying as a matter of interest? Dub> New York > las vegas or other and who with?

Mandalay Bay has been offering rooms midweek for $69/night. My favourite restaurants in Vegas are either Stripsteak at Mandalay or Valentino's at Venetian.

Stayed in the Luxor on the strip when I went two years ago.
Great hotel - great rooms and felt safe.

If it is your first time stay on the Strip but if I was going again I would stay off strip as non residents can avail of all of the hotel facilities on the Strip. The MGM is massive and it takes at least 20 mins to get from the door on the Strip to your hotel room.

I played cash games in FitzPatrick in Freemont which was very friendly.

There are a number of internet sites with reviews of the various casinos
and tips about drinking cheeply before going out for the night.

The Trip Adviser & holidays uncovered web site gives reviews on places to stay - see http://www.holidays-uncovered.co.uk/

You should take a helicoptor trip in the evening over Death valley and then to see VEGAS lit up in the late evening........fantastic.

Would agree with most of the posts on this thread - Enjoy the planning for the trip as this is half the fun.

7-10 days is a long time to stay in this sureal environement - Enjoy !! :D:D

Cash games in the Wynn and caesars palace. Tourneys in both are pretty good to.
As richie said spearmint rhino is d bomb. Saphire is right up der too.
You`ll get goo food in most of the big places. Normally all have a decent steak house.
Go see the grand canyon and go to the stratosphere at night.
The nightclub in caesars is great craic.
Also the weekends in vegas does be great.

Stayed in Ceasers with wifey in 2007. Class place. Lovely poker room and great food. Even the room service food was top notch.

Would also recommend the mgm, the rainforest cafe for breakfast as there is less sugar on everything there. A cousin living in Boston for the last year said it was the only decent breafast he has had in the states!!!

Do try craftsteak the once, pricey but brilliant.

If there's not already, there should definitly be a sticky on this topic. It comes up time and time again.

Good info in a sticky on food, nightlife, hotels and flight/hotels deals could be a big help to everyone IMO.

    +100!!!
constantly want to know where to go and where to stay etc but have to look through pages to find it which I am too lazy to, would be cool to have a sticky to find out who will be there, when, and where to go etc.

only need to sticky it for a few weeks

QFT, the steak was just amazing there.

I stayed in MGM Signature last time I was there and it is pretty class. I went out in the Palms and also in the MGM, Palms has some really cool nightclubs and Studio 54 is pretty good in the MGM. Definetly catch a show and the helicopter ride to the Canyon is amazing.
