EA games - has anyone ever returned disc for replacement?

My Fifa 09 does not seem to be working will know for certain later when try it on a friends Wii- was looking at the booklet and it said you could send the disc back to EA sports with a chq for £10 and they would replace it. Has anyone contacted them and done this?
