    Hi, hopefully correct forum.
Has anyone any experience of putting black dye in concrete. How much it costs, if it turns out and lasts well, if its worth the hassle etc.
Putting concrete around the front and side of the house and thought it would be nice to have a different colour from the path(which is regular concrete). I know concrete can be dyed but no-one around here that I know of has had it done. Thanks:)

If you are going to go ahead with this the only advice I'd give is to try a trial batch and give it some time to cure. The colour you are trying to acheive may not be what you get at the end of the day.

Be extremely carefull of the mixing ratio.. I would not advise using it on a concrete footpath as certain areas will get more water/sunlight therefore different shades of black will appear.

To add if you were thinking of something different why not try natural stone paving or something along tha lines. Liskanner stone paving is a black in colour and looks great.

Dye works extremely well with concrete, as long as the mixing ratio is correct. i have recently done trials with it in Dublin Zoo and it worked great. Dye can be pretty expensive too though. If you need any technical information i would be happy to oblige

If you are going to use black dye make sure you get it from Roadstone or condron concrete products not from ur local building suppliers . Why ?
Cause the cheap stuff gos white after time or durning frosty weather , and mix the right measure of dye to cement allso another reason .

    Hi,
Sorry to change the subject a little bit. I am hoping to concrete my driveway(powerfloat finish) and was wondering if anyone has seen this finish with a dye in it.
