Never used osram ones before, iv used cheap ones off ebay and at the moment I have philips extreme white, found both the cheap ones and philips ones good for that extra bit of light and white light.

Cosmetically the blue effect is nice to look at. Not great if someone is driving behind you or towards you with them, can have quite a glare from them. Especially if the lights on the car are out of alignment.

You can see further in rain. fog, mist, drizzle with yellow tinted light. Blue light reflects back from water in the air and reduces your visibility.

What do I think of them? - stupid in this country.

what are the purpose of xenons lights? are they a style thing or are they better than standard bulbs?

As a heads up when you look at ebay pages - "DOT approved" means squat.
DOT (US Dept of Transportation) can't approve equipment.
    And we're in Ireland

As I understand it the manufacturer may simply mark the lamp "DOT" as its certification that the lamp has been manufactured to conform to all applicable requirements.

It does not mean "street legal all over the world"

http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/ always have good prices and offers on the osram range. Free delievery on orders over £15 now afaik.

Haven't used the cool blue bulbs yet, but have the osram nightbreakers in my car. Great bulbs, made a very big difference over the standard bulbs.

If you are just buying them for the blueish effect then you might as well stick to the cheap Halford ones. At least they are cheap and probably last longer.

If you want the Xenon effect then buy a proper aftermarket HID kit imo.
