Pretty sure this was reviewed in AI magazine.

Chances are that it will attract the eye of customs officials if it isnt going through a retailer.

Equipping such an item on the airsoft field would be unfair on the rest of the players, who would be powned like mere noobs by such a contraption.

Down with this sort of thing I say.

Does anyone know the legality of importing real steel components for airsoft? The piece in question is this http://www.israeli-weapons.com/store/side_arm-accessories/p7.htm

Any insight would be much appreciated.

    Thanks.

Considering its an accessory and not a part of a firearm required for its operation i would presume it wouldn't be covered under the "firearms, component parts there of" legislation. thats not to say that I'm right though, its just my take on it. The company might not ship it to you anyway unless you are licensed, and theres a chance that when it gets to Ireland the customs people will stop it and send you a letter requesting a copy of your firearms license before releasing it.

Personally I think it looks like a pile of sh1te though. lol, theres few advantages to a pistol in this sport and attaching a stock to one means there are even fewer. :D

I'd say it falls under the same realm as furniture kits, real stocks and grips for AK's are sometimes used in other countries, and all they are is a lump of wood or plastic. You'd need to nit pick over the definitions of a 'component part of a firearm' which I doubt an unnesesary to operation piece of plastic would.

Yeah I know and its all well and good saying it, but when some customs official who doesn't know the difference between a potato gun and a tattoo gun sees it and decides to air on the side of caution, the buyer is the one who'll end up out of pocket.
they also use scanners that recognize preprogrammed shapes of items and theres a good chance even furniture from a real steal would pop up as an alert. harmless I know, but customs people don't exactly have a reputation for being very helpful to airsofters. :)

Don't think this would have an issue, I havn't heard of a wood kit, stock or receiver kit being stopped, much less an obscure glock stock, and a receiver would be more likely to be stopped.

But this glock stock is at no more risk from customs than any other airsoft furniture so I'd say its fine.

Id go with the real one if i were you lad, its not too far off the price of the ebaybanned one, but bear in mind that airsoft guns are not exact replicas to the RS counterparts so you will have quite a bit of dremmelling & sanding in store.

I cant attest to the quality of the EB one but the real one is made form a very strong dense material, extremely solid, it would have to be to take the recoil of a .45ACP.

If the EB one is a direct clone of the RS one youll be in for a lot of hardship with regards fitting, without the guarantee of it being durable at the end.

I wouldnt worry too much about customs stopping it & keeping it, unless your planning to mount this on an unlicenced RS Glock.:D

Cool, I emailed the company and they said they would mark as an airsoft part. So should be all good. :)
