Jewellery isn't the be all and end all for presents. There's loads of other things you could buy. I could list off things but well she mightn't be into any of it. Your best bet is to listen to her and write down what she seems to be interested in.

If you're on a low budget then keep the emphasis on quality time together. Make her dinner, light some candles, make her a cake, drive or go by public transport to somewhere nice and go for a walk, if it's a lovely day make her a picnic on a beach or in a nice park. Preparation and time together is key.

What is she in to? Roughly whats your budget if you don't mind me asking?

Music - cd, dvd, concert tickets, make her a cd of her fave music, if she plays instrument get her something to do with that

Sports - depends what shes in to really

Clothes - voucher for fave clothes shop or if you are brave pick something yourself. Accessories are easier to buy coz you don't have to worry bout size.

You said you havn't much to spend so do something romantic like make her dinner or picnic and cinema. Its nice to get pressie but you can get something small and thoughtful and then spoil her for the day. I'm sure she understands you're broke.

You could ask her for ideas or ask her mates.
