How about a BMW 3 Series Coupe. Going cheap in the UK and even here at the moment.

You could pick up a 2005-2006 for around €15,000

do you need back seats? If not get an Elise! If you do, how about an RX8 or a JCW Cooper S?

    Seriously underrated cars!!

Would you consider a 2.5tdi a4? Plenty of poke in them and easily chipped/mapped!

The 2.5 tdi a4 is the old shape, i need a boot anyway so itl have to be semi-practical....rx8 way too thirsty and unreliable! Iv just found this though

Insanely boring looking but serious performance...

The Golf won't be as quick as your Corsa. Kind of a step backwards really.
If you do want a quick diesel, you could go for a 04 330Cd, that'll fit your budget including VRT and you can save for the DMS upgrade!

That golf would be a step back performance/fun wise. Why diesel? If you are not doing big miles then stay with petrol and go for a nice big engined car. I recently went from a Mazda 3 MPS to a E90 325i and havent looked back. With the current climate i cant believe someone is willing to pay you 16k for a 07 corsa opc! Take it and run.

123d coupe, 200hp and 150odd quid to tax. You'd have to sell your car privately to go to england however

    This 120d is in cork

How about this Honda Civic Type R FD2: http://pistonheads.co.uk/sales/961904.htm

2008, 800 miles on it. €21500 or so if you were to pay what they are asking. I wonder if VRT has been paid on it?

That must be the catch I'll bet.

I wouldn't even have to think about this OP!! Brand new diesel Impreza tiicks every box,

3 year warranty, 150bhp renowned boxer engine, 4 wheel drive to put that power down and 50mpg.
