Just treated myself to a pair of these, in bright orange:D

Got them reduced to €85 and had been looking for a nice new pair.
Put them on my feet & they feel so light, almost as if they're not there.

Anyone used them, whats your thoughts?

Have a pair and find them great. haven't gone for racing flats yet so the DS Trainers are the lightest pair I use and run with them in all races. Have run longer than 13 miles in them and find them very comfortable and cushioned. I was using Kayano 14's so the trainer felt very light in comparison but i found it great initally for speed work.

These were my racing flats a few years ago, though now I've 'demoted' them to my training shoes and I race in Asic Gel Speedstar which are much lighter.

The DS Trainers are a nice light shoe with nice cushioning. They are suitable for over pronators (via the Duo Max part) and neutral runners.

These are my training shoe. I found the orange model fit quite tight but once they loosened out they were great. I did well over 1000 miles in an orange pair last year and it coincided with my longest uninjured streak ever. Only problem I had was that on one side the insole bunched up so I had to stick it down. Current model is white and are grand but I loved that orange pair. Well wear!

I've had a few pairs of DS Trainers over the past few years, not sure which model numbers. They are my favourite running shoe, my current ones are white with a little bit of red. Light, supportive, and quite a low profile - perfect for faster stuff and running on grass. I've often worn them for easy runs as well but usually I'd wear something a bit more cushioned.

I went for these in the marathon. Didn't want to risk a racing flat just yet. Not the orange ones mind, but the newer model. Absolutely perfect for it - that bit lighter than the usual shoe I'd use for long runs and easy runs.

Thanks for the replies folks - reassuring reading.

Out of interest, how did people find the sizing?
They were on sale a size up from what I usually take, so asked for a pair of 2140 or 1140 in my size to compare.
The only had the 1140s in my normal size, but I honestly could not tell a difference between the two, even though they both Asics - toes in the same spot in both shoes.

Hope to train on them tonight, see how they feel, might use them in one of the Galway 5k series races, see if they'll help me in the quest for a sub 21. :)

Funny you should ask that, I bought a pair of Kayanos at the same time I bought the DS Trainers and had to go up a size for the DS Trainers. Even now after maybe 150 miles in them the size up is correct so must just be a different fit, was worried at the time that they loosen out and be too big.

Congrats on an amazing time for dusseldorf. I was looking at the results and noticed a guy who arrived at the half way point in around the same time as you and then ran the second half 11min faster (http://ergebnisse.metrogroup-marathon.eu/liste.php?_event=M&_gender=M&_age_class=%25&limit=25&imageField2.x=59&imageField2.y=8).

You didn't by any chance notice him taking off boots and putting on racing flats or something at that point? Thats quite an incredible negative split for a marathon time in that range.

He didn't jog the first half that's for sure - he just had a nice break! He was an elite pacer for one of the elite women. We passed them at 14km... she was walking/shuffling and had the three pacers walking shuffling beside her. Obviously a while later when she dropped out he thought "screw this I may as well get a good training run in" and off he went. I remember him zipping by me alright.

I went up half a size too. Asics even admited they are small, although I hear the new model is fine.
