    Hi all,

I've got myself a new(er) PC so have been able to crank FSX pretty much all the way up to max quality now which is fantastic. I do a lot of VFR flying now in small props to keep inline with my realworld flying but I've been stuck flying around Wellington and New Zealand to learn routes, waypoints and navaids etc. Incidentally, I HIGHLY recommend some great NZ scenery from www.windowlight.co.nz if anyone would like a virtually tour our skies, its amazing stuff.

I need to get out a bit further though for a change so think im gonna get myself some new scenery for Europe or elsewhere, what are people enjoying at the moment and would recommend to use? Freeware or payware.

Thats an impressive site and line up of scenery for NZ. I wish we too had an similar one for Ireland.
Fly Tampa's Kai tak for FSX is a must have imo. http://www.flytampa.org/
Its one of the fun ones even though its no longer in use. The scenery covers
most of the bay. It can be hungry on fps though with the level of detail.

For freeware OZx have some good material. http://aussiex.org/forum/index.php?autocom=downloads
I have their Grand canyon pack installed and its very good.

Im looking forward to seeing what others suggest as Id like to get some quality European scenery.

Without a shadow of a doubt THE best addon scenery for fsx can be found at http://fullterrain.com/. This totally transforms virtual VFR flying. Try out their freeware Tasmania demo and check out their demo video's.
For European flying i'd recommend Ultimate Terrain X (UTX) Europe and get Adam Mills freeware European textures from Avsim. There are tonnes of scenery addon's to choose from.....the best of which are payware, naturally. Check out UK2000, Scotflight and Aerosoft's LondonX and German sceneries. FranceVFR is another fantastic scenery developer.
At the upper price range is Switzerland Professional X ...a hefty €130 and over 16gb!!. I got it for xmas and have yet to install it (waiting to do a fresh install on my main pc first)

PS Congrats on the new pc! What's the specs? :)

Nice one yeah i'll download that in work :) The screenshots and videos look fantastic, strange i've never heard of it before, especially being involved in the VATNZ community here in NZ.

I forgot to mention there's loads of freeware NZ related scenery, aircraft skins and missions on http://www.flightsim.co.nz/ if anyones interested.

Anyone got any GA favourites? I'd love a new little country airfield in high detail. I'm bored with big airports.

There's a few high detailed freeware GA fields available from Fullterrain too...http://fullterrain.com/freeware.html . They also have hi-def textures for a number of fsx aircraft.

PS. As you're in kiwiland :p...have you d/l'ed the fsx native CT-4E Airtrainer

Hi guys, i was thinking of doing some virtaul flying down under.... one of my favourites is Lukla airport by aerosoft it transforms mount everest and is one of the harder airports i've flown into (mainly because of the slopping runway), also Flytampas St. Maarten - Saba scenery is a nice one for the collection...

Ultimate Terrain X is also quiet nice, it is a real pity there isn't an add-on for ireland that is the quality of some of the other suggestions /\/\ /\/\

I would one day love, just love to have a computer able to run FSX on very high detail!

My laptop doesn't even run FSX smoothly enough to get by so I returned it :o
