    hi

    is there any web site that allows you to buy and sell shares in ireland without having to go through a broker

    i bought boi shares a few weeks ago at 34c then sold the other day at 91c but when i tried to buy back in at 66c i rang the broker and he informed me that they sent out the check for the shares that i sold so i had to send the check back to them and then they bought shares at 87c

    it was a bit slow and i missed out on a bit of profit

    In Ireland you can sign up with Davys, Goodbodys etc..Alternatively if you have a UK bank account there many UK banks that offer share dealing online at a lower commission to Ireland.
    There are more brokers than traders.If you can take the time do the paperwork you can sign up for very low commissions in the USA with brokers. Make sure to open a margin account and bear in mind there is a restriction to day trading on these accounts unless you have 25,000 dollars as margin.

    Hi lucky Colm,

    I use Davy's, It's 25 Euro a trade and when I joined I needed to credit my account to 2100 Eu when opening it.(as far as I remember),
    Unfortunatly when I sell my shares online it takes about 3 days before I can buy again with the same money, can be fustrating when you wish to buy in again.
    However, this has also proved good for me at times as it allows to clear the head and rebalance the thoughts, especially when trading the rollercoaster of the Irish banks.
