Which bike? (again)

    I'm looking for a bike - originally the budget was e500 but I've pushed it a bit.
    Pref a hard tail. I've been round pretty much every cycle store in the city.

    The bike I liked best was a 2 year old (?) GT Avalanche 1.0 Disc which I found at Penny Farthings. Then on CRC, I found the GT Avalanche 1.0 Disc 2009 for €643.15 - specs are here.

    Today I went to Cycleways and saw the Specialized Rockhopper. The "comp" configuration (specs are here) is €769.99.

    Some specs:
    Forks: Avalanche - Suntour Mag-32's, Rockhopper - RockShox Tora SLite's.
    Brakes: Avalanche -Tektro Auriga comp, Rockhopper: Avid Juicy 3 SL
    Derailleur: Both have Deore / Deore SLX

    The Rockhopper's frame may be lighter - but I'm not 100% on that.

    Recommendation?
    Or other suggestions - that I can buy in Dublin or on CRC? :confused:
