Also the signal given in the cockpit as the Hawks roll on the Runway is the rolling now / brake release signal to the other jet.

If you've got a copy of FSX you too could "fly" the BAe Hawk

Cheers. Remind us closer to the time I don't want to miss it. Missed the Typhoon the last time it was here. :(

Didn't know the FAA operated Hawks, obviously ex RAF aircraft. I guess it's because the Navy doesn't have their own fixed wing jet assets since the demise of the Shar.

The cockpit looks awfully dated though. With the exception of the GPS which must have given them nightmares to try and fit in. Interesting.

Yep.......I'm hoping to be there...might take in the practice display too on the Friday (what time will this be taking place?). Where's the best spot for taking pics....I'm assuming the display line will be along Salthill promenade?

The Skysim BAe Hawk for FSX is a fantastic addon....easy on the frame rates too. It comes highly recommended.

Display Line is indeed the Prom at Salthill, also show center is the Slipway in Salthill Across from the Waterfront Hotel.

Since the SHAR left the RAF have been Operating off the UK's Carriers as JFH ( Joint Force Harrier ), Hawks have been around for quite some time in the FAA. JFH is expected to soldier on until the F-35 enters service in 2012.
