A way around needing to have things delivered to the billing address on your CC?

I have an address in the UK I can use to have things delivered to if I want. However many sites will only deliver to the billing address registered on your credit card.

On a post in Bargain Alerts I noticed somebody mentioned that you could set up an alternative UK address on your CC where you could have things delivered to.This then gets you over the problem of needing to have things delivered to your billing address.

Has anyone else tried this? Does it work? Are there any obvious problems with it that I'm not seeing?

Assuming that the company delivers to Ireland you should have no problems to have it delivered some where else. I've simply filled in two different addresses multiple times with out issue in stores that "only deliver to CC address" and never had it rejected.

You can register another address with your cc company. Just ring them up.

I think they generally just insist that delivery be to the billing address for the first order. After that they will usually deliver anywhere.

I probably wasn't clear in my initial post. I want to buy something in a UK store that does not deliver to Ireland but I have an address I can use in the UK for delivery. The company I want to buy from will only deliver to the address that the card is billed too however. If I add a UK address to my CC I'm hoping they might then deliver to that address in the UK. I was wondering if anyone had tried that and found it worked. Or would a UK company who won't deliver abroad accept an Irish credit card at all?
