What is the procedure for registering a southern car in the north. How much does it cost and is there a grace period before you have to register your car and if so how long?

Its a nominal registration fee, something like £30. Details are at www.dvla.gov.uk.

one thing i would do is make sure they can insure it up there for you.
I moved up north a while back but ended up selling my southern car as i couldn't get insurance.

That said it was a honda prelude!

It's usually 6 months grace for re-registering. The dvla website is for mainland Britain only. Go to www.dvlni.gov.uk for full details.
