I have bought O2 mobile broadband, the black one. Had it for a week and it was fine so I decided to kepp it but lately the signal has been terrible, I keep having to move around the aprtment. Anytime I get close to the window or on the balcony the signal is fine but inside its terrilbe.

Can anyone advise me of cheap way to increase the signal and one thats not too complicated. Anyone know where I can get an antenna maybe or something like that.

On the off chance can I cancel out of my contract due to the decrease in service?

contact o2 firstly and let them know the service has become so bad and ask for it to be improved or for the time without service to be refunded then if there is no improvement you will have a good case for getting out of the contract.

you can get cheap aerials online for putting in the window or in the attic which will improve signal but if it is contention causing your speed issues this will not improve with an aerial.

Thanks, I'm using Football manager live and anytiume I can find a spot with 3 bars its fine but that now involves hanging upside down in the kitchen. If it drops to 2 bars I lose connection, I know mobile broadband is a terrible for online games but FM live is a minimum thing, I taught ti would handle it.

You can get aerials on eBay, but they're not so easy to set up, and I'm not convinced they do much. Better to get a long USB cable, and hang the modem in the window. Either that, or get a router and put that in the window. There's a sticky thread on various routers at the top of the forum.

Your probably right, I got an extension cord for it and I'll hange it out the window, see what happens. Don't really want to get a router, trying to keep the expenses down.

Thanks for all the help, I'll let you know how the extension works out.

Antennas range from about €50-€100 anyway, so they're not a cheap solution either. 2-3m USB cable will probably do the trick, if you normally get a good signal at the window.

Why not buy a wireless 3g router and plug it in where ever you get your best signal, that way you can go anywhere in the flat and you'll still get a good signal.

Got one in the car phone warehouse for 99euros and its a great job.

    this one:

or dovoda do one aswell :

If you check this forum they have there own support page and get good reviews from the other posters.

had to log of the net last night at 3am the signal was so bad just greel light all the time. today is the same. friend of mine gave his back he had it for few months, when they tried to tie him to contract he told them he had put video on you tube showing how bad the service was and would take it in to court with him . they just took it back no coverage. sometimes its ok never great.
